edinburghlinks.com opens its doors...

We’ve set up a portal at http://www.edinburghlinks.com to allow people to list Edinburgh websites and comment on them and the place in Edinburgh that they relate to.

Now if people will just visit and use it!

What month is it?

I've been having a pretty busy old time of it over the last few months. Lots of family things both good and bad and lots of work to do at Infinite Apps. It's not that long ago that we completed phase 2 of web application development for West End Kitchens. Since then, we've not only been involved with a fairly sizeable project management consultancy piece of work but we've also been busy developing websites like edinburghlinks.com

In the coming month we're involved with a number of other web-based projects and I'll try to record progress as it happens. We're increasingly focusing on the use of Ruby on Rails as our primary development platform. It just does the job quickly and efficiently - just what our clients want.

I've read a lot about concerns over scaleability of Ruby on Rails but so far I've seen no problems. We tend to use lighttpd now to improve response times.
